The bacterium is usually present in the oral cavity and is responsible for increasing your risk of dental carries, bad breath due to bacterial overload and other dental problems like gingivitis and periodontal diseases. Moreover, the pomegranate extract also showed a powerful anticarcinogenic activity, thereby preventing you from oral cancer. The study also documented an increase in the salivary pH after 10 minutes of rinsing the mouth with pomegranate peel mouthwash, thereby inhibiting the bacterial growth.     How to use it?

    Here is a step-by-step guide on how to make pomegranate peel mouthwash at home.

    • Cut pomegranate fruits into four equal halves and separate the seeds from the peel. Make sure you also remove the yellow portion of the fruit, as it gives a bitter taste.
    • Now, sundry the peels under direct sunlight for few days till it loses moisture and becomes hard and dry.
    • Add the peels to a grinder and make a smooth powder. Make sure that everything is a fine powder with no hard peels.
    • You can add 20 gm of pomegranate powder to a litre of water and allow it to boil for few minutes. Strain, cool it down and use the solution as a mouthwash. Store it in a refrigerator.
